The Karnataka Gruha Jyothi scheme registration procedure has begun in response to the Delhi government’s extension of the 200-unit free plan until 2024. One of the five pledges made by Congress during the state assembly election was the Gruha Jyothi program, which was approved on June 2, 2023. Registration for the plan opened on June 18, 2023.

WHAT IS THE JYOTHI SCHEME KARNATAKA GRUHA?

Providing inexpensive power to the people of Karnataka is the goal of the Gruha Jyoti Yojana. Along with encouraging renewable energy sources, the program also seeks to increase public awareness of energy saving.

Under the initiative, every home in the state of Karnataka would receive 200 units of free power. The program has over 8 lakh families registered now, and the number is still growing. As of June 20th, 8.16 lakh people had enrolled with the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited for the initiative.

Eligibility  for Scheme 2023

Applicant eligibility for the plan is contingent upon meeting ownership or tenancy standards set out by the authorities and residing in the state in which it is implemented.

They should have no current electrical connections and their property be in a rural or underdeveloped location.

The applicant’s family income must also fall under the set limit along with providing the required paperwork and information for the registration process. 

KARNATAKA GRUHA JYOTHI SCHEME 2023: Documentation Needed

• any identity-proving document, like a passport, voter ID, PAN, or Aadhaar card.
• any one document, such as a rent agreement, voter ID card, ration card, or Aadhaar card, that acts as evidence of address.
• passport-size photos.
• the bank account details.
• Evidence of ownership, such as a property tax receipt or sale deed, is required.
• a letter of approval if the applicant is a tenant.
• A confession of oneself.

Step 1: Go to the Gruha Jyothi Scheme’s official website as the first step.

Step 2: Go to the website and find the signup area.

Step 3: Provide correct personal and contact information on the registration form.

Step 4: Present your power bill as identification of your address.

Step 5: Send in the registration form and required paperwork.

Step 6: Await the relevant authorities’ clearance and verification.

Step 7: Upon approval, you will get a registration confirmation.

Step 8: Begin to get the Gruha Jyothi Scheme’s advantages.
